X-07,

X-10 Mounted Electromechanical Combination Locks
Four locks manufactured by the Mas-Hamilton Group, now known as Kaba-Mas, have been approved under Federal Specification
FF-L-2740B, Locks, Combination, Electromechanical,
or previous versions of the FF-L-2740 specification.
The model X-07 lock was approved in November 1991.
It was the only lock approved under FF-L-2740 until the model X-08 lock was approved in March 1999.
Kaba Mas discontinued production of the X-07 and began production of the X-08 in October 1999.
The X-09 lock, manufactured by Kaba Mas, was approved on June 12, 2002.
All three locks are still approved for protection of classified material, but the X-07, X-08, and X-09 are no longer available.
Parts are no longer available for X-09 locks (and CDX-09 door devices).
All X-07 and X-08 locks (and CDX-07 and CDX-08 locks) have reached the end of their expected service life.
The DoD Lock Program recommends that activities still using these locks consider replacing them, which is cheaper than experiencing a lockout.
The X-10 lock, also manufactured by Kaba Mas, was approved by the General Services Administration under the requirements of Federal Specification FF-L-2740B on April 9, 2013.
The X-10 lock is available from DLA Land and Maritime and GSA Global Supply.

The X-10 lock was approved by the General Services Administration under the requirements of Federal Specification FF-L-2740B. The X-10 can be light gray or black in color, and same in size and shape as the X-09.
Looking at the dial ring, one distinction visually from the X-10 is that the manufacturer date stamp is at the 8 o'clock position on the dial ring and begins with "XA", "XI", or "XK".
The X-09 date begins with "A" and is located at the 9 o'clock position (See pictures below).
Another distinction is the X-10 has a backlit display, eliminating the need for external light sources when locks are installed in poorly lit areas.
The lock case, mounted inside the container, has four mounting holes for mounting the lock case without having to take the lock case apart as you do with the X-09 lock.
Operation of the X-10 is much like the operation of the X-09. The dialing sequence is left-right-left-right and the lock can be powered-up in either direction.
