Padlock Characteristics Table Information

NSN: National Stock Number
CID-PIN: Commercial Item Description-Part Identification Number; look in the appropriate CID for PIN descriptions.  A "-2" after the CID number indicates a bigger lock: wider body, taller lock, and thicker shackle.
Lock Size: Indicates general size of lock: "Std" means 1.5" width (measurement A in diagram below) and .281" shackle thickness (measurement C in diagram below).  "Larger" means 1.75" width and .343" shackle thickness, other dimensions vary depending upon the PIN for the lock but are generally larger.
Shackle Length: "Std" indicates the padlock has a standard shackle.  "Long" indicates long shackle, typically 2.5-3.0 inches.  Measurement D in diagram below.
Keyed: "I" means padlocks are individually keyed; "A" means all padlocks are keyed alike.
Padlock Groups: Locks/Set is specified as the number of padlocks in each group.  An "L" after a group number indicates the padlocks have long shackles in that group.
Chain: A number indicates the length of the chain in inches.  If blank, this indicates the padlock does not come with a chain.
GSA: An asterisk in this column indicates that GSA Advantage offers that NSN.
Other Notes: The value "n/a" indicates data is not available.  Lock body height (measurement E in the diagram below) per CID is 1.250 - 2.000 inches for all locks.
All lock characteristics listed in the tables below are based on DLA - WebFLIS information.
