Kaba Mas X-10 Lock Training

Training classes for locks that meet federal specification FF-L-2740B are limited to the Federal Government employees, and US Government contractors specifically authorized to use these locks, or other organizations or persons specifically authorized or required by the US Government to use these locks.  This training is available only to U.S. citizens.
 

The DoD Lock Program offers group training sessions on the Kaba Mas X-10, a lock that meet Federal Specification FF-L-2740B.  If you have a large group of students and want training at your facility, please email our training coordinator to request schedule availability.  You may also want to review the instructional documents below to assist you.

 

To register for a class, complete this registration form and send an encrypted email to W_NAVFAC_DOD_Lock_Program_TC@navy.mil after you receive a digitally signed email from our training coordinator.  Please include your Full Name and DOB on this form.  You can also fax a completed form to (805) 982-1253.  Once we have received your registration form you will be asked to send payment.  It is requested that funding for students coming from the same command is on the same document.

Please note that classes are subject to rescheduling or cancellation if minimum number of students (8) is not met.
Therefore, classes are subject to cancellation two weeks prior to class start date.

REGISTRATION

You will receive confirmation of class commencement two weeks prior to class start date. Students are responsible for their own travel obligations (e.g. air, car, and hotel) and rescheduling. We recommend only booking refundable travel.

PAYMENT METHOD

  Credit Cards:   We DO NOT accept credit cards.
  Check:   Made payable to US Treasury.
      You must include your Tax ID (not SSN).
  Navy Customers:   Use NAVCOMPT Form 2275
  All Other DoD:   Use MIPR Form 448

A general terms and conditions (GTC) agreement must be completed prior to sending funding (documented on the funding document).  PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT A GTC.  For questions regarding payments call the financial POC at  (805) 982-1224 or DSN (312) 551-1224


NON GOVERNMENT STUDENTS

If you are a Department of Defense contractor (not a DoD employee), there is a sponsorship letter we need in order for you to register for a class. You can open the sponsorship letter by clicking this link. The letter must be completed by your government sponsor and emailed along with the registration form.

OTHER INFORMATION

Classes are from 8 am to 4 pm. Dress is business casual.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL DOCUMENTS

 
 

The X-09 lock, manufactured by Kaba Mas of Lexington, Kentucky, was approved on June 12, 2002. The X-10 lock, also manufactured by Kaba Mas, was approved by the General Services Administration under the requirements of Federal Specification FF-L-2740B on April 9, 2013.  The X-09 is no longer manufactured but it is still approved for protection of classified material.  Only the X-10 is available from DLA Land and Maritime or GSA Advantage.
