ABOUT EXWC'S EXPEDITIONARY PROGRAMS OFFICE (EXPO)

The Expeditionary Technical (EX) Technical Department develops, delivers, and sustains affordable, lethal combat capabilities for the Fleet and warfighter in contested and austere environments around the globe. EX supports expeditionary, special warfare and other units with full-service procurement, technical, product support, logistics, research and development, and maintenance products and services. The department is responsible for documenting requirements, investigating enabling technologies, developing sustainable materiel solutions, and developing acquisition plans, while delivering total lifecycle systems management. EX’s primary capability is procurement, fielding, and providing Product Support Packages to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability for the full portfolio of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command capabilities.  The department’s four capability areas are Basing/Personal Gear Infantry/Tools, Ground Vehicles, Construction Equipment, and Logistics Over the Shore (LOTS). EX’s primary Program Offices are PMO305 (Navy Expeditionary Systems) and PMO314 (LOTS). In addition, the Engineering and Research Division conducts research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) for customers operating in contested and austere environments who need to develop new methods and platforms for autonomous equipment, and methods for construction, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and water and energy alternatives. The EX Department is leading the development of Advanced Manufacturing for Navy Expeditionary Forces and the digital integration of remote field data in a combined cloud repository for real-time, global decision making, design and project management. The Expeditionary Maintenance Centers in Gulfport and Port Hueneme provide intermediate and depot-level maintenance to Construction Engineering Support Equipment, Naval Support Element assets, other tactical and ground vehicles, trailers, cranes, and Lighter Amphibious Resupply – Cargo (LARC) systems for customers worldwide via Navy civilian and contracted expert mechanics.
