ILD TEST PARAMETERS, PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
AND VERIFICATION STANDARDS TABLE

First generation ILD systems have undergone a battery of tests and evaluation to obtain DOD approval for use to secure igloo and magazine doors.  This includes environmental, unauthorized entry, operational, wear resistance, and quality assurance testing (see table below).  A 10,000 test cycle of operation indicates a life span of opening the lock 2 - 3 times a day, every day, for 10 years.

The second generation (GEN II) ILD has design improvements on the first generation and uses better materials.  It has been in field use at several sites for almost 3 years with no operational problems.
