The DoD Lock Program can provide disposal service to all branches of the military, federal agencies, and DoD contractors for FF-L-2740 combination locks.
This includes Kaba Mas CDX-09, CDX-10, X-09, and X-10 locks, and Sargent & Greenleaf (S&G) Model 2740 and 2740B locks.
In all requests for disposal you must first call the DoD Lock Program Technical Support Hotline at (800) 290-7607.
You will be instructed fill out our
FF-L-2740 Combination Lock Disposal Request
form and send it to us along with the lock and the combination reset to 50-25-50.
Older Electromechanical Mounted Combination Locks
Kaba Mas X-07, CDX-07, X-08, or CDX-08 locks do not have to be demilitarized or sent anywhere special. They may be sent to a DLA Disposition Service location, or may be simply thrown away, depending on local requirements or procedures.
Prior to disposal they shall be reset to the standard combination of 50-25-50 according to
DoD Manual 5200.01, Volume 3, Enclosure 3, paragraph 11.b(4).
The DoD Lock Program does not recommend saving parts from Kaba Mas X-07, CDX-07, X-08, or CDX-08 locks as these locks have reached the end of their service life and should be replaced, not repaired.
